Create an image that describes who you are. What are your interests, ambitions etc... Your image should be more than what you look like and does not necessarily have to even show your face. Be creative and try different ideas. Find photo references for the elements you are going to draw and paint before starting the 9 x 12 finished canvas board.

You will be asked to identify them all on the last day of class before taking them home. We may not finish the paintings so just do your best and make sure you accomplish the objectives to the very best of your ability.

Elements Of Art
Value- the degree of lightness or darkness of an object
Line- the path of a moving point through space
Shape- 2d area that is either organic or geometric. Has height and width but no depth
Form- objects that have three dimensions
Color- derived from reflected light. Has three properties: Hue- names of the colors, Value- lightness or darkness Intensity- purity of the hue or chrome
Texture- degree of roughness or smoothness of an object, can be tactile or visual
Space- referring to the emptiness or area between, around or within objects
