Ceramics- sculping a free-standing figure

Students will be finding a minimum of two photo references for either suits of armor and other adornments for a knight or elements that make up a gargoyle.  (not drawings or paintings)
Museum websites can be a strong source.
Begin the same process with every project by creating sketches of your idea before building.  Create a design that is free-standing and at least 6 inches tall.  Look at the examples in class and think about creative ways you can design wither a knight or gargoyle that stands on it's own.  Elements like capes, swords and wings can be useful.  Whichever choice you make, your figure needs to demonstrate at least 3 different textures and at least two different lines (organic, geometric, broken, continuous)

When glazing you need at least two different values.
Be creative and have fun!
